Yes, I made a similar observation while trying to build a generic
Slackware binary package.  It seems that the module should go in
/usr/lib/python/<version>/site-script or whatever that last node is.
I'm not sure that prefix should be followed exactly or not.  If it
follows the prefix variable closely, it would work for package
creation but for This guy who wanted to build in a private directory,
the python stuff would probably be not found.
