IIUC there are:

• algorithmicx bundle which provides the algorithmicx.sty and
  algpseudocode.sty (plus some others).  Check with:
  tlmgr info --list algorithmicx

• algorithms bundle which provides algorithm.sty and algorithmic.sty.
  Check with:
  tlmgr info --list algorithms

Now algorithmicx claims to be an improved version of algorithms (which I
can't judge).  As far as AUCTeX is concerned, we could cater for
algorithmic.el if there is a demand for it (and should be easy to do).
Otherwise we should be set by now.
