Have you considered a firmware only USB implementation? Here's one: http://www.obdev.at/products/vusb/index.html

I've used a similar firmware before, and it worked fine. There seems to be an i2c implementation here: http://www.harbaum.org/till/i2c_tiny_usb/index.shtml

Hi all!

Which AVR is the best for implementing a HID based USB device? Are there any which can be programmed by the same USB port using avrdude?

I need just a i2c to hid translator for touch panel and various sensors and a hid device for backlight control.

Thanks,

Daniel
