Running "uname -R" will give you the micro-release number.  If it it
less than 6.5.10 then we need to do something with "versions" to tell
whether you have the MIPSpro 7.3 runtimes installed.

Hmm.  I won't have time in the next two weeks, but I'll try building
with static libraries too.  Not as nice, but if it works that'll do.
