Hmmm - I did a complete build from CVS this morning under BSD 4.8
and do not see any of these problems. Indeed my gpbs crash has gone
away so its actually more stable. Just tried a remote login from
here and make_services runs fine.

I have only tested with Apps I wrote myself. I assume you recompiled
these from scratch ?

Thats worrying - because that would be what I would have suggested.
I sometimes gte crahses if I forget to re-run the setup scripts after
installing the new 'make' - but given that you wiped the whole lot then
I assume you did this.

Wher is you version of 4.8 from, and what compiler are you using ? My
system is from June 23rd and I am using gcc 3.2.2 from ports
