Well, this is definitely a lilypond-texi2html.init issue. Just for testing, I moved the file to lilypond-texi2html.init.old and did 'make website'. Tons of warnings,
but successful finish!  All anchors for accented nodes now are fine, eg.
#Notaci_00f3n for 'NotaciĆ³n' in the Manuals page. xref-maps have not changed, as they are created in an earlier stage. I still can not say what are the xref-maps used for. When deleted, they are always regenerated from scratch, ie. they are not
reused.

Following our French example, the anchor is now #Entr_00e9e-sous-forme-de-texte

So again, where are the anchors truncated or modified in any way when they shouldn't?
