Cool project.

80 MSPS * 3 channels * 1 byte/sample * 1/4.5 = 53.33e6 bytes/sec.

Did I miss something, or how are you planning on getting that across
the USB?  Do you have a host/peripheral controller pair that will
sustain that kind of throughput?  If so, which ones?

I only mean the A/D was capable of 80 MSPS. Clearly that kind of data throughput for USB 2.0 is not practical, though I think FW/FW II can handle it. 720p requires only about (720 * 1280 * 60 * 3)/4.0-4.5 = 36.6-41.5 MB/sec which may be possible over USB 2.0 according to what I have read on this list.
