Perhaps it would be good to mention the problems you have with TextEdit. They could hint a GNUstep bug.

Good, given the permission I can discuss it now ;) (NO I am no longer angry, I am just being rhetorical.)

Using gnustep-1.93.3 back-art 0.17.1 preferences 1.2.0

Bug 1: Search panel doesn't work. It simply doesn't show up. Press #-f you will see. In fact you will see nothing happening, that's the problem.

Bug 2: Preferences doesn't show up after click. Other application shows preferences well. gnumail, and lusernet, for example, shows their preferences. They both have other fatal problems though.

I also tried another dozen apps since original post, and except LaternaMagica, GWorkspace, PRICE.app, all other have serious problems. By serious problem I mean like above "search panel doesn't show up", because as few-featured as TextEdit, every feature existing must work otherwise is of no value to end users, and yet most other apps are few-featured.
