Bob,

In the Wiki you said:
"I do not think the PickAxe shoud be included, for various reasons, but
mainly since I would really have to change the whole look and feel of it to
match the help system. [Bob] "

Just to let you know, apart from working as part of the FreeRIDE team
I also coordinate the ongoing spanish translation of the PickAxe.
I feel including this documentation is fundamental for Ruby newbies to
adopt the language, which is one of the many reasons why we are
doing FreeRIDE.

The Pickaxe comes in various flavours, not just HTML.
In fact the HTML version is generated from XML source, and in turn
the XML sources are automatically generated from LaTeX.

You only have to change the convert.xsl stylesheet in order to
change the appearance of all the HTML files, and regenerate them
again, with Sablotron or another XSLT engine.

Also, I am in contact with Jürgen Katins, who is translating the PickAxe
into german, and Marcio Barbosa who is doing the portuguese translation.
( see: http://www.rubygarden.org/ruby?TranslationsInProgress )
As soon as translations are finished, we intend to start a central
Ruby documentation site, which could be part of RAA in the future.

We'll get to talk more about it, just to keep you informed.

cheers,
                   vruz
