Yes, but I'm working on the 0.8.15 codebase rather than HEAD, and I'm
assuming that committing to the alpha15 branch is frowned upon (if
possible at all).  Since these fixes would constitute the most part of
0.8.16 if we go for this plan, would it be better to make an alpha16
branch?

Also, how would I go about posting patches other than through CVS?

(By the way, yes 5 is trivial - I just moved one function from
Utilities.cpp to Utilities.h).
