Maybe it's an mbus cable (or a broken fbus cable). The cable loops back
the transmission.

M means mbus, F means fbus. Try to set the switch into the M position and
set the "connection = m2bus" in your gnokiirc. You have to use a quite
new gnokii version, try the 0.5.0pre5 or the cvs version.
