Honestly, I'd recommend against this. If knowledge of the current structure of the code would prevent someone from coming up with a more friendly help system, then it should probably be avoided until it's time to implement.

I've seen quite a few people say they've switched from arch to darcs just because of the number of lines of help output. It seems like a pretty important thing to get right and should probably be designed from the correctness point of view instead of how well it fits into the current code base.
