Thanks, Deri--your attached example looks quite nice.

It's a good day when I don't feel I have to hack another workaround into
groff.  Except it means that the need to address one of the "mission
statement bugs", or one of two progressively weakened fallbacks for it,
is all the greater.

In other news it sounds like the community needs to be raising Cain with
the stewards of the URW fonts to restrict oblique Greek glyphs to the
oblique/italic typefaces and let the upright fonts regain their
orthogonal dignity.
