Hello,

Translations of the manual I work on (Cinelerra manual) have begun.

We noticed it's not possible to make the pdf manual, when the texinfo

output (even if they do appear in the pdf output).

Hi Nicolas. I'm not sure I understand that paragraph. Are you able to
generate a pdf, or does it fail leaving you with no pdf file?

Here's what's written in the log:

Missing character: There is no é in font cmr10!
Missing character: There is no é in font cmr10!
Missing character: There is no é in font cmr10!

{snip}

I was really surprised to discover texinfo doesn't support accents
unless you edit the texinfo.tex file. :-/

This sound odd. I've had to have seen many TeX-generated docs with
accented characters in them. Are you generating the accented character
using the Texinfo command (@'e), or are you typing it in as one
character in your editor? What encoding are you using for your source
text file?
