Ah, oops. I said that it wouldn't matter when you make grobs too late.
Bad news: it does matter. Some engravers (notably
Separating_line_group_engraver) acknowledge all types of grobs, and
get confused when the grob is coming in at the wrong moment. I'm
fixing the error message now "I've been drinking too much (Continuing;
cross thumbs)", but that does not repair the spacing problems.
