But I'm not using the released version, but the developer version.
Ah, the version specified in master (i.e. the development version) is always
the same as the latest released version? How can one distinguish then whether
one is running the lastest master as compared to the latest release?

- From KDE I was used to the fact that immediately after a release the version
number would be increased. I would find this much easier to work with,
because currently lilypond tells you that you are running version 2.11.56,
which is actually not correct.

When you are creating files in master, which says it's 2.11.56, you are
actually creating files for 2.11.57, which will not work with 2.11.56... Not
very intuitive to me.

I suppose that I also got several conversion rules wrong, as I always used the
version reported by lilypond as the next released version number...

What I also don't understand how testing convert-ly works, because it thinks
that it is version 2.11.56 und thus won't apply the conversion rules for
2.11.57...

Cheers,
Reinhold
