Good point, but the change is probably too disruptive of old scores.

For \absolute c'  or  \fixed c'  there is no need for special effort.
These operations commute with transpose.
  \fixed c' { c4 e g c \transpose c d' {c4 e g c}}
  =>  c'4 e'4 g'4 c'4 { d''4 fis''4 a''4 d''4 }
