Jonas,

I trust you to do the right thing relative to branching for a stable
release.  You have been a careful and thoughtful contributor, and have been
an immense help in moving LilyPond forward.

Your rationale for needing a new stable release is excellent.

As far as I can see, you have managed to resolve the GC bugs on Windows.

Please make a stable release candidate at any time you deem appropriate.
