Dear Lily Pond list,
My name is Yerko, and I am new to Lily Pond. I am writing because I
tried to write out a piece of music, but it giives me a lot of errors
when I tried to compile it at the end. It is strange, because I tried
to do it before, and it worked, but now, it doesn't. I used all the
rules fo sintax as I understood them. If you could please help me with
this, I would truly appreciate it. I have attached the .ly file, and
the compilation report. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Yerko

Hi Yerko! Welcome to LilyPond :)

Your input file is a bit....of a mess. But don't worry. You'll begin to see the bigger picture as you learn more about the syntax and structure of LilyPond. I quickly removed all your bar checks and threw together a variable for you instead of trying to put all that in a score block (lots of errors) - see attached file for at least a quick-edit pdf of what I think you're going for.

You had some errors with regards to how you are understanding the score block itself, as well as markup, unterminated ties, and various warnings. There still remains quite a few things wrong but at least there is an output for you to see now. :)

My advice would be to start over with a blank document, and compile more often, brick by brick and see where the errors occur. Then, check the documentation to see what caused it. Re-inputting is a great way to learn by doing.

One last thing, what program are you using for input? Vim, Frescobaldi, Notepad, etc.?

Perhaps an editor like Frescobaldi might be a good starting point too.

You will quickly see how powerful LilyPond can be....write back if you have any more questions!
