Hi!

I just found out that it is possible to use sftp to access the
download area. This is good since it is much easier to use sftp than
scp. The command you should use is:

               sftp -1 savannah.gnu.org:/upload/monit

You login the same way you do with cvs; using your ~/.ssh/identity
file.

Sorry... it doesn't work... I gonna try my luck with scp!

Connecting to savannah.gnu.org...
/usr/sbin/chroot: cannot execute /usr/lib/sftp-server: Permission denied

Uploading packages:
-------------------
For the upcomming 4.0 release I suggest that those who can create
packages i.e. Christian (Solaris) and Rory or Martin (rpm) simply
upload the packages themself to savannah when you have time. Maybe
Martin (if you can) should take responsibility for the rpm's since it
looks like Rory is quite bussy at work.

Solaris packages are on the way!

Argh! I uploaded packages for Redhat 9 - damned savannah has broken sftp as noted Christian (there is discussion on the mailinglist - it seems that it works only for users with real accounts, but since february they were not able to fix it).

I have no permission to write to /upload/monit/monit.pkg/4.0 directly, even though via scp:

unicorn:~/cvs# scp -1 -rv monit.pkg address@hidden:/upload/monit Executing: program /usr/bin/ssh host subversions.gnu.org, user martinp, command scp -v -r -t /upload/monit OpenSSH_3.6.1p2 Debian 1:3.6.1p2-9, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090702f

I send the packages to /upload/monit/RedHat (available via http://savannah.gnu.org/download/monit/RedHat/9/).

Please if you have sftp access, clean two md5 files from http://savannah.gnu.org/download/monit/ root (mistakes) and move http://savannah.gnu.org/download/monit/RedHat to http://savannah.gnu.org/download/monit/monit.pkg/4.0/RedHat

Thanks and sorry,
Martin
