Follow-up Comment #14, bug #57867 (project octave):

The function with the bug is in a c++ file. the best way is to produce a patch
for that file.  I guess for demonstration you could try to make an m-file
program that shows the same thing, but that seems like quite a workaround. If
you're set up to patch, compile, and test, you could just make the fix, and
demonstrate the input/output improvement.
