Follow-up Comment #21, bug #59331 (project octave):
@Markus: I am currently bulding for testing a minor change that might help.
What I do not understand is why my encoding combo box in the preferences
dialog shows "SYSTEM (UTF-8)" in the right place regarding alphabetical
ordering and "SYSTEM (ANSI_X3.4-1968)" at the very beginning of the list. The
latter sounds quite weird to me on a Debian system.
