Follow-up Comment #1, bug #61996 (project octave):

Is this only on Linux?

On Windows, a setting that hasn't been preserved for a quite a long time now
is the position of the border between vertically stacked docked widgets. Those
borders consistently creep up, or get reset to a fairly high position, upon
every restart of Octave.
