Follow-up Comment #26, bug #50692 (project octave):
Questions to those of you who can see this problem:
* Is it only in a corporate Windows environment (including company-issued
laptops) or do you also see it on computers that you manage 100% by yourself
independent of corporate work?
* If you can disconnect the network connection from your computer, do so and
start Octave after that. Do you see that problem?
It sounds like something is trying to keep a network connection alive by
sending a character every 30 seconds, like older SecureCRT. This could also be
a third party VB script designed to prevent screen lockout. If you can view
Windows Scheduler, check it for 30-second intervals.
