i use autoconf and autoheader v2.13 too, but with aclocal and automake v1.5...
perhaps this is the problem. but i don't have any idea...

try to run
 $ aclocal
 $ autoheader
 $ autoconf
 $ automake
in your protux directory...

Tapio ? do you have an idea ?
