GNATS development is very active now, there will be a release of GNATS
4 soon, they are finishing up the documentation.

So far, there are two main developers, one for GNATS and one for
Gnatsweb, plus the guys at gcc.gnu.org are using GNATS and it is being
used as a test ground for the new GNATS/Gnatsweg.

DB integration is being discussed now in the developer mailing list,
but it will not be integrated in GNATS 4, they want to release
something. Quite a few other guys are contributing and ideas, so I
would qualify GNATS as being active now.

Somebody already contributed a web interface to do GNATS
administration, and after the licensing is resolved it will be
distributed with GNATS.

Gerald Pfeifer solved the licensing issues in regards to Gnatsweb, and
it was quite a hassle.

Some time ago, I talked with the GNATS guys to move hosting from Red
Hat to Savannah, and it seems that they accepted, but it will be done
slowly, so far there is a project created and the "Home Page" link
points to the red hat pages.

Summary, my vote is to help GNATS get better, AFAIK it is the "GNU But
Tracking System", so we should help our own subprojects.

Some time ago I signed up to help get GNATS up and running, because
Jeff was busy, I got it up (shaky, but up) and now maybe one of the
new Savannah hackers will be helping linking it with Savannah, but he
needs the password of the GNATS administrator (he doesn't have root
capabilities). Who can help here, or can I just change the password
of the user and give it to him?

Greetings,
