Did you receive a cookie after you attempted to log out? (you can make
your browser ask you before accepting cookies, which lets you see when you
receive new cookies).

If you received the cookie, you are already logged out, even if the webpage
tells you otherwise (a re-load of the page should show that you are logged
out); this happens sometimes in slow networks because the browser times out
waiting for the page to be refreshed. If you do not receive a cookie when you
attempt to log out, then we have a problem.
