Question about Speech-dispatcher

Hi all,
I have just installed the latest version of SD from source on my Debian Lenny
system since I suppose its not the 0.6.6 release that is available through
apt-get?
Also, i have heared that it is recommended to run SD as another user and not
root. What is the best way of setting up this if i have compiled this from
source?
