I'll announce it as the second test-version of 0.56 tomorrow.
To get back to this once again, i now tried different Scenarios, whats interesting if gtk 2.6.1 is compiled with "--enable-debug=no" then Synaptic quits without any output. When using "--enable-degug=minimal" Synaptic works fine, but some others don't thats really strange.....
