I will look into the MinGW port once I feel that the Beta is running smoothly 
enough. The debugging tools in VC++ are amazing and a big help dealing with 
bugs in my X layer.  

As for merging the changes to the mainline, I agree that should be done very 
soon. I will have to download the latest release and see exactly what has 
changed.
