Knuth's  70th birthday has  prompted many  maths/CS bloggers  to write
about him  and TeX, and it's  striking how many of  them say (roughly)
"TeX is *horrible*, but nothing else is remotely good enough".

Unfortunately people  often assume that TeXmacs is  just another front
end  to  TeX  (see  eg.   my  attempt to  correct  this  confusion  at
<URL:http://scottaaronson.com/blog/?p=303#comment-16572>).
