I've finished the basic xml IO implementation yesterday. Both writing and reading the data appears to work, but I need to run a few more tests to check for memleaks and other bugs. But if you want to use it for the animation classes Tyler, feel free to go ahead.
Just corrected the convert_data.py script to work properly. You can now switch between data in XML and gz compressed format. Also fixed filereport.py script to display contents of either data formats in table form on stdout. Still todo: * test endian conversion by saving on ppc and loading on x86 and vice versa * make xml loading aware of Adonthell's search paths * change search path handling to recognize absolute path names Kai P.S:: Right now I'm about to update the API documentation on http://adonthell.berlios.de/api/ . Should be online later this evening.
