Because else Dialogic 5.1 SP1 or SR1 does not start with more then 512MB
on the server.
I found this while adding memory in an old server and since then I face
this problem on every servers.
I have to limit memory in lilo or grub.
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.18-5
label=linux
initrd=/boot/initrd-2.4.18-5.img
read-only
root=/dev/hda3
append="mem=511M"
I can leave with 512MB and springware boards but it would be better if I
can find the fix and be able use more memory.

What happened if you had more than 512 meg? I guess 5.1sp2 would also
work okay also with rhel 2.1/centos 2 since it was rh 7.x based...

Something annoying, 6.1 is not supporting spring ware board ;(
I think the most updated drivers (this year) is:
Intel(r) Dialogic(r) System Release 5.1 Feature Pack 2 for Linux
Service
Update 45.
http://resource.intel.com/telecom/support/releases/unix51/linux51fp1/Onl
doc/update/relnotes.pdf
I hope Intel/Dialogic can give you a free version to encourage
everybody
to purchase this drivers update.
I have problem with memory limitation on previous drivers; I was never
able to set more the 512 MB on my Linux server.

I would like to setup a test system here to get the bayonne2 dialogic
drivers back to an operational level sometime this year, but what
distros is 6.1 directly supporting?

Tony,
I have no idea on 6.1 release under linux except what I have read on
intel
site. My experience on windows has shown that the 6.x series should be
backward compatible with 5.x series. Gc_basic_call_model is a sample
gc app
that comes with dialogic system release.

6.1 and Bayonne
Ambar,
I was hoping to run Bayonne on a Mandrake 10.x system and it looked
from the documentation that the 5.1 materials weren't rated to run on
it, whereas the 6.1 suggests that it at least supports 10.1.
Do you think the 6.1 package might contain all of the elements that
used to be in the three 5.1 packages?
Is the Gc_basic_call_model a program? If so, where can I find it?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Tony,
You can always download and run SR 5.1 and install the SP1.
Although 6.1
should be fully backward compatible with 5.1.
First set up 6.1 and run some sample programs.
Gc_basic_call_model is a good
one to try. And then try running bayonne.

Subject: [Bayonne-devel] Intel Dialogic System Release
6.1 and Bayonne
Hello All,
We recently purchased an Intel Dialogic D/41-JCT-LS board and the
System Release 6.1 for Linux with the intention of
installing it for
use with Bayonne. However the documentation at
http://www.gnu.org/software/bayonne/documentation.html
seems to refer
only to version 5.1 and talks about needing three
different packages
(Service Release, Service Pack, Feature Pack) and the CD that we
received from Intel only seems to have one package on it.
I'm curious to know if anyone has setup Bayonne with a
Dialogic board
and the 6.1 system release.
Thanks,
Tony
