Dear translators of BFD, (CC Nick, bug-binutils)

There is an issue with the verification of translations in BFD that
could cause the program to crash due to typos in the translations.

The problem is that messages in BFD often use non-standard string
substitution codes (%B and %A) which are therefore not verified by
msgfmt or the translation project validation code. Example:

msgid "%B(%s+0x%lx): unresolvable %s relocation against symbol `%s'"
  msgstr "%B(%A+0x%lx): réadressage %s sans solution vers le symbole « %s »"

The first instance of %s is written as %A by mistake.

I have fixed hopefully all these errors by marking the affected
translations as fuzzy. I attach a tarball with updated gettext
catalogs including diffs and originals. Please send the updated
catalogs (preferably soon, before any releases) to the translation
project robot, so the error will not affect next releases of BFD. You
can of course fix the errors and remove the fuzzy flag - whatever is
appropriate - before uploading.

These changes should be uploaded for the two most recent versions:
bfd-2.28.90 and the new bfd-2.30.0 which appeared a few days ago.

I would submit this myself, but I am not a member of the relevant
translation teams. Please let me know if there is any trouble or
questions.

(In Spanish there is only one affected message, and it obsolete. But
obsolete messages can be reused without warning if that string is
reintroduced in BFD, so this is still technically unsafe.)

Best regards
Ask
