So, because winXP allows you to burn CD, and window media player actually allows

That will be allot of people to sue over. Let's sue internet because it helps
downloading copyrighted content. Yes, internet is so bad.

(This e-mail has been wrote my me, so I own the copyright on it, so you shall
not copy it. Then I can sue nongnu.org because he's copying it into all emails
glob2-devel members.)

This is legal insecuity... Actualy, media player will become full-DRM with Windows Vista. The hole idea is to impose DRM to people. DRM was made to restrict wat the legal system did not restrict. This lw wants to impose what is restricting what the legal system do not restrict normaly (and much more, for example you will not be able to record music from radio or to speak about this). All this you are not alowed to speak directly or indirectly about this technologies is much like censorship, so i guess i will not be aowed to send this email once the law passes.

However, i don't think they will pass it is this form. However, whethet they pass it or not, this must teach everyone about how music industry actualy see the world (and the world of intelectual propriety). How thay actualy want to controll everyone's acces to information in the name of selling proprietary plastic disks. Also, if you sign the petition "we are not criminals", how thy want to make free authors criminals. Actualy their most enemy in the long term is free music, not P2P systems. Actualy p2p systems help free music more than they help plastic disks, because someone using P2P will more likely buy free music than proprietary music once free music will become the majority...

Actualy microsoft is involved here, because they want to sell Windows Vista to people, witch can control what application you run, but french administration is migrating quite masively to linux-based computers.

Free software was developped because proprietary softwar was too bad (and still is), i think that free music will develop when proprietary music will become too bad. You haven't seen yet star academy, a tv show creating stars.. and they are best sellers... They are the new Microsoft, realy.. The new stars of music industry are created on mass braodband.. And most artists do not sell, they just loose their freedom of copyright. When most artist will realise this, they will not sign contracts where they loose the copyright for 20 years.. First they have to finish the contract they have, and then you may see them join the free music...
