Well among other things, `fish:' sounds stupid.  And is less recognizable.

Its only advantage is that it's familiar to some users of kde -- and I
suspect even then it's only a vanishingly small subset of them.  Given that
kde's audience is quite different than that of tla, this seems like an
extremely minor advantage at best.

My suggestions:

  (1) Accept a number of alternative names for the same service:

         ssh-ftp:, sftp:, fish:

  (2) In the documentation/web-pages, try to make it embarrasingly clear
      that these are _all the same protocol_ (i.e., keep saying that again
      and again)

  (3) Use `ssh-ftp:' in examples where you must choose one, as it's obviously
      the clearest: it avoids confusion with older meanings of sftp, makes
      the connection with ssh explicit, and yet still resembles the official
      name `sftp' closely enough that it's easy make the connection.

  (4) Ask the KDE developers to do something similar.  If they don't, well it
      doesn't really matter very much, but it's always nice when everybody is
      compatible.
