Thanks a lot John, I didn't know this man page...
I was pretty happy when I saw it compiling but it failed after a while :
If I run :
nice make LILYPOND_EXTERNAL_BINARY=/usr/local/bin/lilypond web
from the top directory I get :
"/home/matth/site/lilydoc/out/lybook-db/snippet-names-1927006633.ly"
Child was terminated by signal 11
make[3]: *** [out-www/collated-files.texi] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/matth/site/lilydoc/input/regression'

(same result as normal user and as root)
If I run it from Documentation/fr/user/
I get :
