Follow-up Comment #7, bug #58082 (project octave):

Thats probally the place that the time is most variable.

I think I did increase the timeout at one stage from the original 30 secs.
But perhaps something bigger should be added or no timeout at all.

I was original hesitant to have no timeout as at that point it could
potentally sit there forever. But perhaps that not a valid reason -  if
something failed it would likely kick out of post-install script anyway
