Follow-up Comment #10, bug #59706 (project octave):

Thanks! I will test it ASAP. I expect it improves the overall performance of
Octave specially in .m files that contains multiple function calls.

I attached a minimal patch that I think improves the performance of
file-stat::update_internal.
