Follow-up Comment #13, bug #59706 (project octave):

Just one more thing to point out that "make_absolute" cannot correct this
pattern:
  

C:\foo\bar\..\d.txt


but can correct this pattern:


..\d.txt


If this behavior of "make_absolute" isn't sufficient a path normalization
function should be used ,as suggested in comment #1 or comment #2 ,instead.
