Follow-up Comment #32, bug #61172 (project octave):

I have tested Torsten's second patch (from comment #31) on my Ubuntu laptop
with Octave 7.0.90. It looks good in many aspects:

* one monitor, fullscreen GUI -> is restored OK
* one monitor, horizontal layout -> is restored OK
* two monitors, horizontal layout -> is restored OK.
* two monitors, fullscreen GUI on monitor 1 -> is restored OK, i.e. I do not
recognize the 1 pixel difference with my eyes.

but there is another problem now:
* two monitors, fullscreen GUI on monitor 2 -> is also restored in an OK
layout, but on monitor 1 instead of monitor 2.
