No, it is bound by default to the 'meta' command, so in this case it
would send a C-2 through to the current window.

Running the following commands:

bind 2 select 2
bind M meta

would fix it if it bothered me.

I probably haven't noticed because I rarely have more than two windows
up anyway. However, when running screen I have _lots_.
