I ran xlsfonts and got the following:
-misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--0-0-75-75-c-0-iso8859-1
-misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-100-100-100-c-60-iso8859-1
-misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso8859-1
6x13
cursor
fixed
So, I created a ~/.ratpoisonrc file with the following line:
deffont -misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso8859-1
When ratpoison started up, it still started with the default (tiny) font.
I suppose this is partly because of poor error reporting on ratpoison's part. There is no command called deffont and hasn't been for years. You want 'set font'. the def* commands were deprecated and later removed but you can still turn them on with the 'compat' command.
