This seem interesting.

I'm not fine (at all) with « SpamAssassin supports many useful existing 
blacklists, such as mail-abuse.org, ordb.org or others. » since this 
kind of service dont allow me to post on some list (SF.net one, to give 
an example) when I'm using my wife's computer that only have a 
connection with AOL ISP.
To use AOL under GNU/Linux, there's no other way than using an SMTP on 
localhost, and this kind of mail is classified as unwanted by the 
SF.net filter (BTW, ISP SMTP are frequently out-of-order and using our 
own SMTP is a freedom that Free Software give us :).
So I think we should use this kind of options that remove us the choice 
of the filter policy.

But a point is important and interesting : « Rules, weights and 
user-visible text are stored in text configuration files as much as 
possible, which the user (or sysadmin) can edit to modify or add new 
rules. »
It would be nice and easy to : create a project on savannah dedicated 
to this configurations files.. and so, any people who want to 
contribute to the filter system should suscribe and modify 
configurations file using cvs.
And fencepost just have to get the configuration files on a cron job.

This should be the roadmap if anyone agree with that :
- installing spam assassin on fencepost
- creating a special project on savannah and adding to his cvs the 
configuration files (tip : the HTML CVS should be use instead of Source 
CVS, since it permit direct access to the files via http, without using 
viewcvs)
- add cron job on fencepost  that get this files.

So, it can be done really fast.
What do you think about it ?
