It seems that it are rather the installations of gcc 3.2 which are bugged.
On my RedHat 7.2, I compiled gcc 3.2 using gcc 2.95.3 and I got not
segfaults whatsoever. I cannot use -ggdb with gcc 3.2 though (for the moment),
because this requires a recompilation of libc and I have been too lazy...
