About the 3rd level Orcish Nighstalker,
 
I consider it a weakness in the orcish race that for a long time they have lacked level 3 units. I've watched the undead get a level 3 warrior and an archer, and the elves get a level 3 scout, while the orcish slayer and archer line is still stuck at level 2. This is really a difference in design philosophy, Miyo was famous for thinking not every line should have a level 3 unit . But since he's left we have seen many units who lacked 3rd level version get them and I think that assuming we can re-balance the assassin line so it isn't too powerful, it's way past time for them to get a 3rd level unit. It would also be a good chance to re-balance the slayer and assassin who with their 70% defense in hills and poison and much better damage at lvl 2 are some of the most dangerous units in the game.

I don't want to see this unit in mainline. Same reason as always: yet
another branch that reaches lv3 doesn't add diversity to the game imo.
And as much as possible I would prefer the orcish warlord to be the
only lv3 *orc* in mainline, it fits better the idea I have of Wesnoth
orcs: they are heavy-hitter, they are not archers, and even less
assassins.

I consider it a fault that the old Mermen and Nagas were obsoleted
before being completely removed from mainline. Especially since
Wesnoth warns whenever it encounters an obsolete unit. The game should
never have to warn about something we have complete control on. In
case there are still some users of these units in mainline by the time
of the next release, I will remove the obsolete tag to prevent the
game from warning about these units.

So please do as you see fit with the old units. And thanks a lot for
going through the trouble of taking care of it.

All of them? Or just the fighter? Or another one?
