Because if and when this particular kind of a bug hits, it will have
dire consequences.

IOW, we are talking about risk management here: a low-probability
event with high cost, if and when it happens.

Many users won't know how to do any of these.

The default is _all_ I was arguing about.  the rest were suggestions
for making this feature more balanced IMO, but I'm okay with those
suggestions slip, if no one else thinks they are useful.
