Oh, I thought it sounded like a good idea?  I may have forgotten to say
so, though.  (And if I remember correctly, everybody who did chime in
agreed that something like that would be nice.)

A variation on that would be to query the user first when they type in
a mode-specific command (that belong to a different mode) -- "You've
asked to execute `5x5-solve-rotate-left' which is specific to
`5x5-mode'.  Really execute?"
