Ideally, it should be possible to build a single Emacs executable that
can simultaneously open frames on a tty, on an X server (some using
GNUstep and others using Lucid), and on a Wayland server.
It would/will require a fair bit of code changes, but AFAIK almost all
of it should be "simple/repetitive": it shouldn't require any
fundamental change.
