It has. Just not 100%.

I think you can turn on 2x scaling even on a Full HD screen? Just use a smaller resolution, like 960x540.
If not, perhaps some of us could chip in for your hardware upgrade. It shouldn't take too many people: HiDPI monitors are pretty available these days.
